How To Play The Jolly Poker Game
The aim of Jolly Poker is to form the best five-card poker hand possible. Before you start playing, click on the menu button on the left and choose a bet size from the options available (0.10 up to 15,000.00) then head to the main screen and click on the large green arrows button on the right to play.
Five cards will then be dealt. For each card, you get to decide whether to keep it or replace it with another randomly determined card. To keep a card, click on it and it will have an orange ‘STOP’ stamp put on it. Note that the game may place this stamp on some cards for you; it does this to show you which cards you should keep a hold of, though you don’t have to follow through with this; you’re free to keep or replace any cards you want.
Once you’ve decided what to do with each card, click on the green arrows button again. If you’ve chosen to replace any cards, they’ll be replaced with new cards, then your hand will be evaluated and you’ll get paid based on the highest-ranking poker hand it forms.
There are eight poker hands you can form and get paid for. From most to least valuable, these are:
-
Royal Flush. A hand containing A-K-Q-J-10, with all cards of the same rank.
-
Straight Flush. Any hand containing five cards of the same rank in sequential order that’s not a royal flush, e.g. 9-8-7-6-5, all of spades
-
4 of a Kind. A hand with four cards of the same rank, e.g. 10-10-10-10-9.
-
Full House. This hand contains three cards of one rank and two of another. A hand with 7-7-7-4-4 would count as such.
-
Flush. Five cards that are of the same suit, but aren’t in sequential order, e.g. 10-6-5-4-2, all of spades.
-
Straight. A hand with five cards that are in sequential order but of different ranks, e.g. 9 of spades, 8 of hearts, 7 of diamonds, 6 of clubs and 5 of diamonds.
-
3 of a Kind. Three cards of one rank and two cards of two other ranks. A hand such as 9-9-9-6-5 would count.
-
2 Pairs. A hand containing two pairs, e.g. J-J-7-7-4.
The better the final hand, the more you get paid. Unlike most other video poker games, Jolly Poker uses a single deck with 44, not 52, cards. The eight cards that are missing are the four 2 and the four 3 cards. The game’s RTP hasn’t been revealed, though it should be quite high like other games of video poker.
Jolly Poker Game Features
-
Casino Theme. Jolly Poker is designed to look just like a typical video poker game found in a land-based casino. The game’s background has a basic colour scheme made up of several shades of blue and dark green. There’s not much in the way of theming, though many video poker games don’t necessarily have lots of theming.
-
Audio. The game doesn’t have a soundtrack that’s always playing in the background, though it does have some very basic sound effects that you’ll har whenever the cards are dealt.
-
Gamble Feature. Whenever you win, you’ll have the opportunity to gamble and potentially double your winnings. If you decide to gamble, correctly guess the colour (red or black) of the next card and if you’re correct your winnings are doubled, though if you guess incorrectly you lose your winnings. The gamble feature has a win limit of 2,000.00.
-
Payouts. All of the game’s payouts are clearly displayed in a table above where the five cards are dealt. There are eight different payouts in total. The lowest is 3x your bet for a hand containing two pairs, while the highest is 1,000x your bet for a royal flush.
