What are the card values in Baccarat?
I would like to start playing baccarat but I am not sure about the values of the cards.🤔
Hi @DonTito,
Good question. Understanding the card values in baccarat is pretty straightforward:
- Face cards (you know, King, Queen, Jack) are all worth 0 points. Nice and easy.
- Got an Ace? Its value is 1.
- Other cards? They're worth exactly what they say on the tin. So, a 5 is a 5, a 7 is a 7, and so on.
- The suits don't matter at all in Baccarat. So, no difference whether you're looking at a heart, diamond, club, or spade.
One more thing to remember: in Baccarat, your aim is to get as close to 9 as possible. If you go over 9, only the last digit of your total counts.
So, if you've got a 7 and a 6 which totals 13, your actual score is 3.
Hope that clears things up! Best of luck at the tables, mate!
cards 2 to 9 give values identical to the value on the front
An Ace is worth one (1) point
all face cards (jack, queen, king) and 10s are zero (0)
The object of Baccarat is to bet on which hand will have the highest value. The highest hand in Baccarat is 9 and the lowest 0. Tens, Jacks, Queens and Kings are counted as zero, an Ace counts as one, and all the other cards count as their face value
cards 4 to 8 give values identical to the value on the front
An Ace is worth one (1) point
all face cards (jack, queen, king) and 10s are zero (0)
